The each Dominican confraternity (Holy Name, Rosary, etc.) had a dedicated Director from 1939 to 1978. From 1978 to 2012, there was an overall Director of Confraternities that interacted with each confraternity within the Province. From 2012 to the present, the position name was changed to Promoter and each confratenity was assigned to an individual friar.

This collection documents the centralized oversight of Dominican confraternities during the period from 1978 to 201 2when a single director coordinated activities across confraternities as the "Director of Confraternities". Materials within this collection include general correspondence, organizational planning, and reports that pertain to multiple confraternities. Requests or correspondence related to a specific confraternity (i.e. Holy Rosary or Holy Name) are kept in those collections under the "Director of Confraternities" series.
