Scope and Contents

The International Dominican Information (IDI) Records contain printed issues of a serial publication produced by the Curia of the Order of Preachers. The collection documents the international life of the Dominican Order, including reports from provinces and houses, communications from the Master of the Order and General Curia, summaries of international meetings and chapters, and coverage of pastoral, theological, educational, and social initiatives undertaken by Dominicans worldwide.

The collection consists of two sets of issues arranged chronologically by volume number. Set 1 represents a continuous run from Volume 1 (1960) through Volume 44 (2012). Set 2 is a duplicate run covering Volume 12 (1980) through Volume 37 (2005), with some gaps.

The materials reflect the evolving priorities and concerns of the Order during the post–Vatican II period, including global expansion, ecumenical engagement, and international Dominican community.

International Dominican Information, also known as International Dominican Information Office (IDI), is the official international communications office of the Order of Preachers, headquartered at the General Curia in Rome. The office produces periodic publications intended to disseminate news, official communications, and reports concerning the worldwide Dominican family.
