Conditions Governing Access
As this collection is being reorganized, the pastor and the archivist have agreed to close use of the archive to the general public for the time being. This restriction will be lifted when either the archive has been properly reorganized or when the current archivist leaves. If the archivist leaves before the archive is properly reorganized, it will be up to the pastor to renegotiate these Conditions Governing Access with the new archivist.
Conditions Governing Use
Should permission be granted for anyone from the general public to access the archives, they would be allowed to take pictures of the archival materials (no flash allowed). They would also be asked to cite St. Andrew Lutheran Church as the source of their information if they seek to publish material obtained from the archives in any works.
Biographical / Historical
These records show various pictures of St. Andrew and St. John's Lutheran Churches throughout the 20th century. Additionally, there are newspaper articles about celebrations held at the church, or in the case of one article, finding a box from the cornerstone of the original church building in the Bluff neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Included in the records are a few pamphlets prepared later in both church's lifetimes showing their histories in honor of a significant milestone.
Extent
30 Items (These thirty items are the first items catalogued in the St. Andrew & St. John's Lutheran Churches archives, mostly in filing folders stored in a box on top of the archive's filing cabinets.) : 6 Newspaper clippings 3 Pamphlets 21 Photographs
Arrangement
Currently, the archives are in a state of disarray. The previous people who worked on the archives threw everything together and then started putting the materials in filing cabinets in an organized manner. They did not finish putting the materials in an organized manner, so the Pastor and archivist have agreed to change the original arrangement to better organize the church's records.
