Scope and Contents
This series contains material relating to the St. Thomas Aquinas House and Aquinas Newman Center at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Material includes correspondence from pastors and priors, Newman Center/Club events and documentation, media, church directories, and staff material. There is also a large amount of bulletins and newsletters produced between 1950 and 2014. Also included are materials from the National Newman Club Foundation, which held several conventions at the Aquinas Newman Center in the 1950s. The material spans 3.5 linear feet is contained in six document boxes and one large carton.

Biographical / Historical
The Dominican Friars were invited to take over the University of New Mexico Newman Center in 1950 upon the completion of the construction of a large church and several residence halls for students. The friars and Newman Club were very active in the National Newman Club Foundation as well as in several social justice initiatives throughout the years. The friars continued to serve until 2014, when the Diocese took over.
